Roundcube webmail stuck on Logging You In

When trying to use the Check Email button in cPanel, you may get stuck on this screen:

Other accounts appear to log in okay.

This can occur if the Roundcube database for the user becomes corrupted.

RoundCube data is stored in the following folder, where $domain is the domain that contains the email address you are working with:

/etc/$domain/

To restore to a previous version, either from the automatic copies made or from a backup, do the following:

  1. Login to cPanel
  2. Open the File Manager:
  3. Navigate to the /etc folder and then the domain
  4. Look for a file that starts with the name in your email address and ends in rcube.db
For example, if your email address is support@uptimewebhosting.com.au, look for the file:
    /etc/uptimewebhosting.com.au/support.rcube.db

  5. Rename this file by adding an extension such as .bak
    For example:
    support.rcube.db.bak

  6. Now try logging into WebMail again.

This should create a new RoundCube database and restore your access to your webmail.
