How to Lock and Unlock Domains
Domain locking is an important security feature that prevents unauthorised transfers of your domain name. Uptime allows you to manage this directly from your client area. Follow the steps below to lock or unlock your domain.
Please note: Australian domains (ending in .au) can not be locked. Transfers need to be approved manually instead.
What is Domain Locking?
Domain locking (also called registrar lock) ensures your domain cannot be transferred to another registrar without your permission. When locked, the domain remains secure against accidental or malicious transfers.

- If you cannot change the lock status, please create a ticket.
