It's a common problem today that offshore companies will spam Australian businesses offering to upgrade or redesign their website. Other spam content includes enquiries about submitting guest posts to the blog and guaranteed services to get your website on the 1st page of Google.
This unsolicited mail is a nuisance and is a significant source of spam.
Any legitimate business will use its corporate marketing email account; instead, these spammers underhandedly use free email services like Gmail or Hotmail to circumvent spam protection and blocking services.
It's a direct violation of the Spam Act.
Unfortunately, there is no sure-fire way to block this spam.
At UpTime, we receive these types of emails daily on our help desk. They are not welcome.
We would never use an offshore solution for any of these types of services.
By sending emails to our helpdesk, they are wasting their time, yours and ours.
You can report spam to the Australian Communications and Media Authority by using their Spam Complaint Form.
If you are one of these spammers and have contacted UpTime, we immediately request that you do the following:
- Cease sending emails to our organisation.
- Remove all emails ending in @uptimewebhosting.com.au from your database.
Failure to do so will result in reporting your organisation to the ACMA, who have the power to impose significant penalties for breaking Australian Law.
