Bulletproof Security causes WordPress to show a critcial error

Depending on the version of BulletProof Security installed on your website, your site might go offline due to an embedded vulnerability.

Our malware and virus scanner will disable the vulnerability to safeguard your site and server.

However, this action may cause your site not to load and display a critical error.

To fix this, you will need to disable the BulletProof Security plugin.

Do this by renaming the plugin folder from bulletproof-security to bulletproof-security-disabled

Typically, this folder can be found in /public_html/wp-content/plugins, but the path may be different if you have multiple sites installed in cPanel.

Once the folder has been renamed, the site should now load.

The final step is to remove the plugin and install a replacement.  We recommend WordFence as a free alternative.

If you are not comfortable making the changes above, please create a paid helpdesk ticket, and we will assist.
