Backing up your data should be done via your server's control panel interface.
The backup section in the Client area shows complete server backups. This type of backup is used only in the event of an emergency.
Your entire VPS is backed up nightly at a minimum, and from this screen, you can check that the backups are working.
- Log in to the UpTime Client Area
- Click on the Services box:

- Click on the arrow button for your VPS:

- At the top of the page, you'll find an Overview and control buttons.

- Click on the Backups button.
- Under theĀ Available Backups section, you can see which backups currently exist for your server.

- To restore your server from a backup, open a support ticket.
Creating A Temporary Backup
If you are about to perform any serious actions on your server, you can optionally request a temporary backup of your entire server from this screen.
If anything goes wrong, you can request that we restore your entire server from this backup.
In theĀ Temporary Backup section, click on the Create Temporary Backup button. Only one temporary backup can be created.

You will see a confirmation message that the backup is in progress.![]()
Go back to the VPS overview screen and monitor the Recent Server Actions panel to check up on your backup process.
If you need to restore your server from a temporary backup, open a support ticket.
Temporary backups are automatically deleted after 7 days.
