How to Create Packages in WHM

Creating packages in WHM (Web Host Manager) allows you to define specific resource limits and features for different hosting accounts. This is particularly useful for resellers who need to offer a range of hosting plans. Follow these steps to create a package in WHM:

Step 1: Log in to WHM

  1. Access WHM: Open your web browser and navigate to your WHM login page. Enter your username and password to log in.

Step 2: Navigate to Package Creation

  1. Search for Package Creation: In the WHM dashboard, type "package" in the search box. Click on "Add a Package" under the Packages section .

Step 3: Enter Package Details

  1. Package Name: Enter a unique name for the package. Avoid using names that might need to be changed later, such as those including pricing details .
  2. Resources: Define the resource limits for the package:
    • Disk Space Quota (MB): Set the maximum disk space the account can use.
    • Monthly Bandwidth Limit (MB): Specify the monthly data transfer limit.
    • Max FTP Accounts: Limit the number of FTP accounts.
    • Max Email Accounts: Set the maximum number of email accounts.
    • Max Quota per Email Address (MB): Define the maximum size for each email account.
    • Max Mailing Lists: Limit the number of mailing lists.
    • Max SQL Databases: Set the maximum number of SQL databases.
    • Max Sub Domains: Specify the maximum number of subdomains.
    • Max Parked Domains: Limit the number of parked domains.
    • Max Addon Domains: Set the maximum number of addon domains.

Step 4: Configure Settings

  1. Settings: Choose additional settings for the package:
    • Dedicated IP: Enable if you want the package to include a dedicated IP address.
    • Shell Access: Allow SSH access if needed.
    • CGI Access: Enable CGI access for the account.
    • cPanel Theme: Select the default theme for the cPanel interface.
    • Feature List: Choose a feature list that specifies the cPanel features available to the user.
    • Locale: Set the default language for the cPanel account.

Step 5: Create the Package

  1. Finalise Creation: Click on "Add" to create the package. Wait for the process to complete.

Step 6: Assign the Package

  1. Assign Package: You can now assign this package to new or existing cPanel accounts. Navigate to "Create a New Account" or "Modify an Account" to apply the package.
